This today topic is a little bit longer but it is worth the time to read if you are overseas and find difficulty on arranging the property transaction in Thailand.
A 'power of attorney' allows you to appoint someone you trust to manage important matters on your behalf. You may consider choosing lawyer or a trusted family member or a very close friend who you know truly cares for you.
Thai government departments in most cases require their own Thai script standard power of attorney formats for specific transactions.
In the case of a land office transaction, a common example of this is authorizing lawyer to buy or sell property in Thailand in your name while you are overseas i.e. you are the buyer and you want to authorize lawyer to handle the transaction on your behalf, the Thai script land office power of attorney to which you need required specific extent and special condition. You will have to complete the power of attorney and sign before two people who are eligible to serve as a witness.
A power of attorney in Thailand can be used for short-term specific transactions. Please note that , the power of attorney in Thailand is normally valid for a period of up to 6 months from the date it was signed, but its validity also depends on the consideration of the officer
